DISH’s implementation of Control4’s Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) greatly facilitates installation of DISH devices in a Control4 home automation system. Additionally, the Hopper API gives Control4 the unique opportunity to create an enhanced entertainment experience for our customers.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As home technology becomes increasingly interconnected, DISH announced today new initiatives to incorporate its Hopper® Whole-Home HD DVR into leading home automation systems. During the annual CEDIA Expo currently underway in Denver, DISH unveiled integration with Crestron®, Savant and AMX, while also showcasing its continued relationship with Control4.
By sharing the Hopper Application Programming Interface (API), DISH has made it easy for partners to tie the Hopper platform into their overall home technology systems. Through this integration, customers can not only manage entertainment, the key component home control systems, they can also manage other technology--including lighting, temperature and security--using one interface.
“Our commitment to the CEDIA space is strong, as evidenced by our growth from one integration with Control4 last year to agreements with the majority of key home automation players today,” said Vivek Khemka, DISH senior vice president of product management. “We are proud to join these partners in giving consumers more choice and control over how they connect and operate the technology in their homes.”
Following are quotes by DISH partners on the integration:
“Control4 is excited to deepen our partnership with DISH,” said Noel Gouff, Senior Director, Business Development at Control4. “DISH’s implementation of Control4’s Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) greatly facilitates installation of DISH devices in a Control4 home automation system. Additionally, the Hopper API gives Control4 the unique opportunity to create an enhanced entertainment experience for our customers.”
“Working with DISH makes a lot of sense for Crestron and our customers,” said Dominick Accurso, Manager, Integrated Partner Program at Crestron. “Integrated, IP-based control of the Hopper set top box within Crestron control systems means a better user experience for our customers, and that is what we are all about.”
“Savant is excited to expand our partnership with DISH,” said Joe McKenna, Partner Program Manager at Savant. “Our integrators pride themselves on delivering a spectacular user experience. Having IP-enabled integration with the Hopper DVR enhances our ability to deliver a premium experience to our shared customers.”
“AMX is thrilled to partner with DISH,” said Adam Gershon, Residential Product Manager at AMX. “AMX dealers place great emphasis on creating a robust user experience for customers. The ability to include integrated control of the Hopper DVR will enhance our dealers’ ability to achieve this goal in ways that were previously not possible."
DISH is exhibiting at the CEDIA Expo September 11-13 in booth 460.
