DISH and Sinclair extend contract talks

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Aug. 16, 2015 – DISH Network L.L.C. and Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. have agreed to a short term contract extension as they continue to negotiate a new retransmission agreement. The current agreement was set to expire at 9:59 p.m. MDT last night.

The extension preserves DISH customer access to 153 local channels in 79 markets nationwide.

DISH is asking the Federal Communications Commission to stay action on DISH’s Verified Retransmission Complaint and Request for Preliminary Injunctive Relief as the two parties continue to negotiate.
