Displaced residents able to watch election returns and weather information
Television and Internet provide critical links for people using Red Cross services during a very important time in the Northeast

DISH is installing free satellite high-speed Internet and television service to Red Cross relief centers in New Jersey to serve residents displaced by Hurricane Sandy. Installations will be complete in time to deliver election returns, as well as weather information.

DISH is donating dishNETTM, its satellite high-speed Internet service, and DISH HDTV service at the following Red Cross relief centers in New Jersey:
New Jersey Headquarters – 1 Silver Line Drive, North Brunswick, NJ, 08902
Pine Belt Arena – 1245 Old Freehold Road, Tom's River, Ocean, NJ, 08753
Atlantic City Convention Center – 1 Convention Boulevard, Atlantic City, NJ, 08401

DISH expects to be installing service at New York Red Cross relief centers as additional locations are identified.

“When families are evacuated from their homes during a disaster, next to shelter, food and water, often access to information is one of the most sought after commodities.  We’re grateful for DISH’s partnership in helping meet that information need,” said Gino Greco, American Red Cross CEO for the Mile High Region in Denver, where DISH headquarters are located.

“Television and Internet provide critical links for people using Red Cross services during a very important time in the Northeast,” said Joe Clayton, DISH president and CEO. “We are partnering with the Red Cross to meet a need for information, communication and even entertainment at this stressful time.”
