Today, the American Television Alliance (ATVA) filed comments on the FCC’s proposal to reexamine the “totality of the circumstances” test in retransmission consent good-faith negotiation rules. The following statement on the filing can be attributed to Jeff Blum, DISH senior vice president and deputy general counsel.

“The evidence is in: the system is broken and customers have been left paying the price through broadcaster blackouts and skyrocketing retransmission consent rates. The FCC needs to update the good faith rules to protect both consumers and competition.”
